| QUESTION: | Can an existing R-3 occupancy change to an LC occupancy if the living room and bedroom ceilings are between 7 feet and 7 feet 6 inches above the floor? |
| ANSWER: | Yes. It is not the intent of Section 313.6.1, Ceiling Heights, to prevent the change in use of an existing R-3 occupancy to an LC occupancy. By applying UBC Section 104.2.8, the existing ceiling heights can be approved for LC occupancy use. |
