The state amendment to Uniform Building Code Section 304.2.2.1 is intended
to apply to any building classified as a B Occupancy.

The expression "accessory support areas such as offices" is intended to
include only work areas for activity which is subordinate to the activity
carried out in the laboratory, such as small offices where scientists would
do computations and other associated paper work. It is not intended to
include areas used for other distinct activities such as marketing, shipping
and receiving, billing, administration, etc.
